Trinity College鈥is recognized for its academic excellence and as a top international center for research and a world leader in nanotechnology, information technology, immunology, mathematics, engineering, psychology, and more. Trinity鈥檚 world-famous campus sits in the heart of Ireland鈥檚 beautiful capital city, right at the meeting place of the retail and cultural districts, perfect for exploring Dublin鈥檚 many charms. Trinity hosts more than 17,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students across all major disciplines.

GPA

Students need to have a GPA of at least 3.1.鈥疶rinity College Dublin maintains the final decision on admission, looking carefully at academic performance within the area of study.

Language Requirements

There are no specific language requirements for this program.

Immigration/Entry Requirements

Visa Required: No.  A visa is not required for entry.  However, students will be required to register with the Irish Immigration authorities within a few days of arrival.

Students must be registered at a university and be at least a junior at the time of submitting their application.

Requirements

Students must have the required GPA, be enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program, and be at least junior standing at the start of the program.

Academic Culture

The Irish educational system requires students to take greater responsibility for learning in a less-structured environment than in the U.S. Students are provided with a syllabus and a broad reading list. Students are required to show initiative regarding research and critical analysis. Courses are called 鈥榤odules鈥 in Ireland and are academically challenging, dynamic, and involve daily reading and homework assignments.

Class Format

Students attend class with local and international students at Trinity College Dublin, and the format is similar to U.S. classes in terms of scheduling and registration. 精东传媒 elective classes are taught by 精东传媒 instructors and are for 精东传媒 students only.

Grading

Trinity College Dublin professors give numerical grades which 精东传媒 converts to U.S. letter grades. Assessment is based on overall performance, including essays, coursework, and final papers and examinations. In many classes, students are graded on class participation, in-class activities, homework assignments, quizzes, and oral presentations.

精东传媒 students can select from a list of over 900 courses (called 鈥榤odules鈥 in Ireland)鈥痑cross 39 disciplines within all three Trinity College Dublin Faculties. The breadth of offerings is extensive. Note that students are accepted to between one and six schools at Trinity college and that it is from these schools that the majority of course choices must come. Some upper-level courses may have prerequisites and certain courses may have a limited number of spots available. For more information on courses, please click here. Certain university courses require prior knowledge of the subject matter. Students learn of the semester鈥檚 final courses in time for course registration, which occurs after arrival.
