ý Seville: Study in the heart of Seville in a beautifully renovated 18th-century palace in close proximity to shops, markets, restaurants, cafés, Catedral de Sevilla, the Royal Alcázar of Seville, and other important monuments. ý Seville features six classrooms, a library, an academic advising office, a student life office, and a computer lab.

Universidad de Sevilla has been one of Spain’s leading institutions of higher learning since the 16th century and hosts roughly 75,000 students. Its many schools, departments, and institutes serve the educational needs of Spain’s most populous region.

EUSA (Estudios Universitarios Superiores de Andalucía) University Centre is a Spanish private university center founded in 1961 and has been affiliated with the University of Seville since 1996. Their official undergraduate degrees include Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, and Tourism. EUSA is one of the educational components that constitute the Campus Formativo of the Chamber of Commerce of Seville, a unique configuration located in the heart of Seville which has catered to the learning needs of more than 55,000 national and international students.  

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by ý in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the ý academic calendar.

  • All students take four or five courses per semester, for a total of 12-15 semester credits.
  • Students are required to take at least one course at a host institution.  
  • Online Course Options: substitute up to one ASU online course

Courses can be a combination of ý and host institution courses (Universidad de Sevilla, Cursos Concertados, and EUSA) in English and/or Spanish.

Academic Culture

University classes are typically scheduled Monday through Friday. ý classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday. Students should expect to have daily homework assignments and weekly quizzes.  

Arizona State University: Most ASU online courses are asynchronous. You may find yourself in classes with students from ASU, other American universities, and students from around the world. You’ll receive direct and individualized support from faculty, 100% online.

Class Format

The University of Seville’s regular courses and EUSA’s courses are open to local students. Cursos Concertados courses are exclusively open to international students and will not include local students. ý classes are open to ý students only.  

ASU online courses meet in “sessions” that are 7.5-weeks long in the semester, and all work must be completed within the session dates regardless of when your other ý courses begin or end.

Grading

Students are evaluated based on class participation, in-class activities, homework assignments, exams, papers, and oral presentations. In some courses, grades are based on an exam and a group or individual project. Numerical grades are given on a 10-point scale at the universities, which ý converts to recommended U.S. equivalents. 

ASU grading follows the same format and standards as ASU courses taught in-person. “Pass/fail” or “Audit” is not allowed for ý students.

Course Information

For students who want to take classes in Spanish at the Universidad de Sevilla, five semesters of college-level Spanish (or equivalent) are required. 

First-year courses at the University of Seville are not available for international students. 

All students who take direct matriculation courses must stay to complete their classes and exams. Exact final exam dates will not be available until the beginning of the semester. ý Seville staff will be able to help students enroll in courses with early exams if necessary.

For students in homestays, families provide all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). For students in residence halls/apartments, you should budget approx. $265 per month for groceries if you plan on making your own meals, and more if you plan on eating out regularly.
