ý Seville: Study in the heart of Seville in a beautifully renovated 18th-century palace in close proximity to shops, markets, restaurants, cafés, Catedral de Sevilla, the Royal Alcázar of Seville, and other important monuments. ý Seville features six classrooms, a library, an academic advising office, a student life office, and a computer lab.

EUSA School of Communications: Courses at this thriving private institution are academically credited by the Universidad de Sevilla, one of Spain’s leading institutions of higher learning since the 16th century. Prestigious local media professionals and experienced faculty teach the tools, theory, and history of media in a highly specialized setting to particularly motivated Spanish and international (mainly European) students.  

University of Seville: As one of the leading institutions of Spain, the University of Seville offers students a wide range of courses in media studies and is known for its esteemed faculty and research.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by ý in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the ý academic calendar.

Requirements

Students enroll in five to six courses for 15-18 credits to be selected from:

  • EUSA School of Communication courses  
    • Content courses in English and/or Spanish  
  • University of Seville (US)  courses
    • Spanish language courses
    • Content courses in English and/or Spanish  
  • Online Course Options: substitute up to 6 credits online through ASU (after required minimum 12 credits in-person courses)

Academic Culture

Class attendance is mandatory, and students are expected to complete work and exams as scheduled. During the fall semester, there is no extended vacation period. During the spring semester, there are two: Semana Santa (normally the week before Easter (Holy Week) and Feria de Abril, for a week about two weeks after Easter.   

Students who take courses at the University of Seville and need early exams should request so at the beginning of the semester. Faculty are open to that option as they have done for former students.      

Arizona State University: Most ASU online courses are asynchronous. You may find yourself in classes with students from ASU, other American universities, and students from around the world. You’ll receive direct and individualized support from faculty, 100% online.

Class Format

Classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday and meet twice a week. Instruction methods include lectures, class discussions, media workshops, and out-of-class activities. ý classes are open only to ý students. US and EUSA courses are also open to both national and international students. All courses are taught by professionals with experience in collaborative and experiential learning who are closely linked to the local and national media environment. The Digital Video Reporting in Context course is a workshop that gives students the possibility of exploring their new social and cultural environment as documentarists.  

ASU online courses meet in “sessions” that are 7.5-weeks long in the semester, and all work must be completed within the session dates regardless of when your other ý courses begin or end.

Grading

Students are graded on midterm and final projects, papers and/or examinations, on course assignments, and on class participation and attendance. Numerical grades are given on a 100-point scale, which ý converts to recommended U.S. letter grade equivalents. 

ASU grading follows the same format and standards as ASU courses taught in-person. “Pass/fail” or “Audit” is not allowed for ý students.

Course Information

Students can choose from courses offered in English at EUSA in the areas of audiovisual communication, journalism, and public relations and publicity. Based on the student language level. 

First-year courses at the University of Seville are not available for international students. 

All students who take direct matriculation courses must stay to complete their classes and exams. Exact final exam dates will not be available until the beginning of the semester. ý Seville staff will be able to help students enroll in courses with early exams if necessary.
