Housing & Meals
Housing
All housing options are located within a 30-minute commute of downtown Palma and offer convenient access to public transportation, supermarkets, shops, cafés, and eateries.
Standard Housing: Includes a room at a homestay or shared apartment. Homestays and shared apartments are located within 30 minutes of downtown Palma.
- Homestays: Includes a single room – with or without another ¾«¶«´«Ã½ student – in the home of a Spanish family to immerse you in the local language and culture. Host families allow for a lot of student independence, have no curfew, provide kitchen access for food storage, share their living room, offer Wi-Fi access, offer weekly laundry, and share their bathroom.
- Shared Apartments: Meals are not included. Includes a single or twin room with another ¾«¶«´«Ã½ student. Shared apartments are modest in size, featuring basic amenities with laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access, bed linens, towels, and a kitchen.
A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive. Non-standard housing options require an additional fee that can be found in the program Dates and Fees.
Meals
- Homestays: Students have breakfast and dinner with their host families, and they are responsible for lunch. Students do not typically have access to use the oven and stove at the host family home, but can prepare cold meals or use the microwave.
- Shared Apartments: Meals are not included. Students living in apartments share full kitchens where they can prepare their own meals. There is a wide range of restaurants and cafés located around the city and the building where classes are offered.
Academics
¾«¶«´«Ã½ Palma: Study on the second floor of ELE USAL language academy, ¾«¶«´«Ã½â€™s partner institution, located near shops, restaurants, cafeterias, supermarkets, and two public libraries. ¾«¶«´«Ã½ Palma features classrooms, a student lounge, a student life office, computer labs, and a modest study space.
