Academics

精东传媒 Madrid: Study in the historic center of Spain鈥檚 capital near Puerta de Sol, conveniently located near shops, caf茅s, tapas bars, theaters, museums, copy centers, and metro stations. 精东传媒 Madrid features five classrooms, a student lounge, an academic advising office, and a student life office.

Fundaci贸n Ortega y Gasset y Gregorio Mara帽贸n (FOM)

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M)鈥was established in 1989 and is recognized as Spain鈥檚 most prestigious public institution of higher education. It follows a U.S. academic calendar system for US visiting college students and has one of the highest percentages of full-time and tenured female faculty in Spain. 精东传媒 students take classes on the Getafe campus, which is the main UC3M campus, located 25-40 minutes outside of downtown Madrid via efficient and modern public transit. Depending on your housing location, your commute time to campus can vary from 40-to-70 minutes by public transportation because UC3M classrooms are located outside of Madrid鈥檚 city center.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by 精东传媒 in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the 精东传媒 academic calendar.鈥

Academic Culture

Courses typically include lectures, discussions, critical analysis of readings, case studies, audio-visual documents, field trips, and require active participation from the students. Language courses privilege work by tasks and group collaboration. Active participation of students is required given the communicative approach of these courses.

Arizona State University: Most ASU online courses are asynchronous. You may find yourself in classes with students from ASU, other American universities, and students from around the world. You鈥檒l receive direct and individualized support from faculty, 100% online.

Class Format

Host institution classes are typically scheduled Monday through Thursday. 精东传媒 classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday and exceptionally have at least one Friday class. Students should expect to have daily homework assignments and weekly quizzes.

ASU online courses meet in 鈥渟essions鈥 that are 7.5-weeks long in the semester, and all work must be completed within the session dates regardless of when your other 精东传媒 courses begin or end.

Grading

In language classes, students are normally graded on weekly quizzes, exams, attendance, homework assignments, oral presentations, and class participation. Grades in the content courses are based on class participation, a mid-term exam, research papers, oral presentations, and a final exam. Each instructor determines the exact breakdown of grades. Attendance is mandatory and absences affect final grades.

ASU grading follows the same format and standards as ASU courses taught in-person. 鈥淧ass/fail鈥 or 鈥淎udit鈥 is not allowed for 精东传媒 students.
