Academic Culture

精东传媒 classes are typically scheduled Monday through Thursday.鈥疶he academic environment at 精东传媒 Rome offers a focused and immersive experience for students, blending rigorous coursework with hands-on learning opportunities to deepen understanding of both academic subjects and the local culture. Attendance is mandatory in 精东传媒 courses, with absences impacting final grades.

LUISS University: The academic environment at LUISS University in Rome is characterized by a dynamic blend of traditional disciplines and innovative approaches, fostering a space where students can engage deeply with contemporary global challenges. Known for its excellence in the fields of economics, law, political science, and management, LUISS provides a rigorous academic curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world applications. Classes are held Monday through Friday and can occasionally take place on Saturdays as well. The academic culture in Italy is more formal than in the U.S. and more emphasis is placed on oral skills.

Arizona State University: Most ASU online courses are asynchronous. You may find yourself in classes with students from ASU, other American universities, and students from around the world. You鈥檒l receive direct and individualized support from faculty, 100% online.

Class Format

精东传媒 classes are small with typically no more than 25 students per class, and they emphasize communication and work in small groups. Instruction is interactive and dynamic, and courses include field trips and guest speakers. Students should expect an average of two hours of preparation required for each hour in class. Instruction is supported and augmented online by our learning management system, Canvas.

Most host university courses are lecture-based with no excursions; they might have some guest speakers. Courses are taken with Italian and other international students.

ASU online courses meet in 鈥渟essions鈥 that are 7.5-weeks long in the semester, and all work must be completed within the session dates regardless of when your other 精东传媒 courses begin or end.

Grading

精东传媒 reports all final course grades to students鈥 home institutions using a U.S. letter grade equivalent scale of A-F.

精东传媒 Courses: Students should expect to have daily homework assignments and weekly quizzes. A greater emphasis is placed on oral presentation and participation, rather than written exams and quizzes. A final exam will also be administered at the end of the semester. The U.S. grading scale of A-F is used. Students鈥 grades are based on attendance, class engagement, homework, project work, presentations, and midterm and final examinations. Learning outcomes assessment is continuous through personal reflections, evaluation feedback, self-assessment, and requirements as set out in course syllabi.

LUISS: The minimum mark required to pass an exam is 18 out of 30 and the maximum grade is 30 out of 30. 精东传媒 reports final grades for host institution courses using recommended U.S. letter grade equivalencies following a predetermined grade conversion scale.

ASU grading follows the same format and standards as ASU courses taught in-person. 鈥淧ass/fail鈥 or 鈥淎udit鈥 is not allowed for 精东传媒 students.
