Requirements

All S茫o Paulo Arts + Sciences students enroll in courses for a total of 12-18 credits per semester, choosing from:鈥 

  • A minimum of 4 courses at FGV鈥
  • Up to two ASU online courses (max 8 total credits)
    • In the Spring term, students will be limited to ASU session B 

Program Credit

Total Credit: 12-18 U.S. semester credits/18-27 quarter credits.鈥 

Course Credit

  • FGV Courses: 2-6 U.S. semester/3-9 quarter credits; 30-90 contact hours鈥
  • ASU Online Courses: Typically, 3-4 U.S. semester/4.5-6 quarter credits; 45-60 contact hours鈥

FGV is recognized for its strong emphasis on business, economics, public policy, and international affairs, offering globally accredited programs that foster critical thinking, innovation, and leadership. With a curriculum designed to integrate case studies, hands-on projects, and industry collaborations, students gain practical experience and exposure to S茫o Paulo鈥檚 vibrant business ecosystem. ASU Courses: Most ASU online courses are asynchronous. You may find yourself in classes with students from ASU, other American universities, and students from around the world. You鈥檒l receive direct and individualized support from faculty, 100% online.鈥 

Class Format

Funda莽茫o Getulio Vargas (FGV) classesare usually based on lectures, seminars and case studies. Attendance is required and class participation is strongly encouraged by faculty. The size of classes typically ranges between 30 and 50 students. 

ASU online courses meet in 鈥渟essions鈥 that are 7.5-weeks long in the semester, and all work must be completed within the session dates regardless of when your other 精东传媒 courses begin or end.鈥 

Grading

Funda莽茫o Getulio Vargas (FGV): The minimum grade students need to pass a course is 6.00. The grading system ranges from 0.00 to 10.0. 精东传媒 reports final grades for host institution courses using recommended U.S. letter grade equivalencies, following a predetermined grade conversion scale. 

ASU grading follows the same format and standards as ASU courses taught in-person. 鈥淧ass/fail鈥 or 鈥淎udit鈥 is not allowed for 精东传媒 students.
